Meat Pies, Sausages & Beer

Morning Thought: Food has a major pull over us. The Israelites longed to return to Egypt because of the garlic, fish and onions. But God was teaching them, as well as us, that there’s something more important than meat pies, sausages and beer – it’s God’s Word. Scripture is real food, sweeter than honey and heartier than beef. It satisfies and invigorates your soul. “He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” (Deu. 8:3 NIV)
